WestingHouse Universal Remote Codes

 This article will explain how to program a WestingHouse Universal Remote Codes. The following codes are only for the ones that begin with RC_.

To program your remote, hit POWER then HIT SETUP until "LEARN" appears on the screen. Press the button for each component you wish to set up (TV, VCR etc.) NOTE: For some models you have to press 0 first before hitting setup. If this doesn't work you may have to switch your TV input from antenna/cable or AV1,AV2 etc., so it displays what is being sent by your remote. After setting up each device, shut off and turn on all components and test them out to make sure they were programmed correctly by pointing the remote towards the components you programmed. Repeat this step if there are any problems.

To program your remote, hit POWER then HIT SETUP until "LEARN" appears on the screen. Press and hold SETUP for three seconds or more until all the indicator lights flash together twice. Point at each device (TV, VCR etc.) you want to program and press one of following buttons:

1) Power button - turns TV power off/on

2) CH+ - changes channel up on TV

3) CH- - changes channel down on TV

4) Number buttons 0-9 - directly goes to a preset channel on TV  (ex. 9 is Channel 90)5) VOL+ increases volume on TV

6) VOL- decreases volume on TV

7) MUTE - turns the sound on/off on TV.

8) 3 plays a DVD in fast forward mode; 6 pauses; 9 either reverses or plays it again in reverse; 4 displays time on VCR.

9) 1 switches closed captioning on/off (on some Westinghouse TVs only); 5 puts the TV in standby (no signal).

10) 0 toggles automatic shut off (in SAT mode only).

  11) Power button - turns VCR power off/on

  12) STOP skips to next track or scene (DVDs and DVRs). Press twice for previous chapter. three times quickly to go to
